Dec. 27, 2023 – Denver, CO – Prepare to embark on a transcendent musical journey as The Denver Brass proudly presents "Carnaval! NOLA to RIO" at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts. This bombastic concert, featuring a Brazilian-styled bateria and inspired by the celebration of Mardi Gras globally, promises an energetic, hip-shaking afternoon - fun for the whole family.
The World’s Biggest Party:
It’s Mardi Gras season, and that means outrageous floats, raucous parades, feathered costumes, big beers, beads, and brass! Denver Brass brings you a sizzling show that combines the creole jazz of old New Orleans with the hip shaking rhythms of Brazil. We’re joined by a Brazilian-styled percussion ensemble to combine the creole jazz of old New Orleans with the hip shaking rhythms of Brazil. It’s second line meets samba, hurricanes and caipirinhas, King’s cake and brigadeiro. It’s a party so wild you’ll need all of Lent to recover. It's CARNAVAL! NOLA to RIO.
