Our Dear Joe Docksey

Dear Denver Brass Family,

We are grief-stricken to share with you the passing of our Principal Trumpeter Emeritus F Joseph Docksey.  Joe unexpectedly passed in his sleep early Saturday morning, December 9, 2023. Joe was Principal Trumpet of Denver Brass for more than 30 years, guiding the unique sound, style, and high standards that continues to set the ensemble apart from all others in the field. Musicians of the Brass are unanimous in their admiration of Joe's exquisite musical and technical skills. But more than that, everyone loved Joe for his humanity, compassion, and support for everyone he knew.
