Cerberus—three-headed, relentless and strong—is the guard of the underworld and brazen-voice hell hound of Hades. This piece, “Cerberus,” appropriately written for three trombones, tells the story of Hercules’ trip to the underworld and his encounter with Cerberus, in a programmatic fashion.
