5 Ways to Recharge Your Creativity

Here in Colorado, generally, we appreciate winter more than other states. We know how to best take advantage of it and how to enjoy it. That being said, it doesn’t mean we’re insusceptible to the winter doldrums. In an industry that requires high levels of creativity, winter doldrums can cause big problems! Below are five tips for overcoming the winter blues and recharging your creativity.

Read. Something, anything, everything! If you’re reading, you’re exposing yourself to someone else’s creative thoughts. It could be a novel, a journal article, a biography, whatever it may be, read something that is enjoyable to you.

Write. You could write music, poetry, short stories, a blog post. Expressing your own thoughts or emotions will help to get your creativity flowing once again.

Listen. Obviously, we’re going to recommend listening to music. It’s our passion. Listen to all genres and styles of music. This act alone can be quite inspirational.

Move. Exercise is vital not only to your physical health, but your mental health. If you’re out and about, moving, breathing in the fresh air, it can really clear your mind and help restore those creative energies. So get up, get out and go for a walk!

Look. We live in such a gorgeous place and have access to many creative outlets. Take a hike and soak in the beauty of the Rockies (big time inspiration). Visit the art museum, the zoo, the movie theater, anywhere. Denver has so many options for arts and culture, take advantage of it
